Five Years Forward: Celebrating Our Progress and Fueling the Future

In March 2020, Columbia Community Care (CCC) began with a simple idea: No one in our community should go without essential resources and support. What started with a single Facebook post turned into a grassroots movement that has since provided food, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities to thousands of families and individuals across Howard County.

Now, as we celebrate our 5th anniversary, we’re launching a special campaign—Five Years Forward—to honor this incredible journey and fuel the next chapter of our mission.

Why “Five Years Forward”?

Over the past five years, CCC has grown into a vital lifeline for our community. Through the tireless efforts of volunteers, supporters, and partners, we have:

• Provided food and essential supplies to 300-400 families every week
• Empowered over 50 young people through transformative mentorship and development programs
• Laid the groundwork for The Source, a future community hub offering healthcare access, educational resources, job readiness support, and inclusive spaces

Our mission has always been rooted in connection, dignity, and equity. As we move into our future, we’re looking ahead with purpose—and we’re inviting you to help us continue this journey.

Join the Five Years Forward Campaign

Our goal for this anniversary campaign is simple: to raise the funds we need to continue expanding our programs and deepening our community impact.

We’re asking supporters, partners, and friends to join us by making a gift of $50, $250, or $500. Every contribution helps CCC provide essential services and create transformative opportunities for the individuals and families who rely on us.

• Continue food distribution and grocery delivery services for those facing food insecurity
• Support mentorship opportunities that empower young people through education, leadership, and personal development
• Build and enhance partnerships with organizations that share our mission of creating equitable access to resources

The Impact of Your Support: Real Stories, Real Change

In 2024, CCC experienced one of our most impactful years yet. We launched life-changing initiatives like the Black August Summer Institute, sending mentees on an educational journey that combined cultural exchange with leadership development and vital life skills.

We also announced a major new initiative—The Source—a future community hub that will provide access to physical and mental healthcare, mentorship programs, educational resources, and job readiness support. This center will serve as a space for connection, healing, and empowerment.
